ANCESTRAL LIMA.
At the Huaca Pucllana, an archeological precint build in the IV century A.C., we will have a panoramic view of this magnificent ceremonial and administrative centre which was considered by the Incas a holy village. We will learn about the life and rituals of its ancient inhabitants and admire its typical piramidal building, very characteristic of sacred pre-hispanic edifications which were adored in the coast of Perú.

COLONIAL LIMA.
The peruvian Viceroyalty was the most important one in the Spanish Empire and Lima was its capital. The highlights of its historical centre are its architecture and the urban design of the city, found in the old streets filled with colonial houses adorned with moorish-style balconies. Our trip includes the Paseo de la Republica (Promenade of the Republic), Plaza San Martin (San Martin Square) and the Plaza Mayor (Main Square), with their different buildings: Palacio de Gobierno(Government Palace), Palacio Arzobispal the (Archibishop’s Palace), the Basilica Catedral (Cathedral Basilica) and the Palacio Municipal (Municipal Palace).
In its historic centre we shall visit one of its most beaautiful buildings, We will enter the monumental Convento de San Francisco (Convent of Saint Francis), which displays the biggest collection of religious art in America. We can admire the Choir Room and the Monks’ Library, the Sacristy, with its collection of Zurbaran and Rivera paintings. The Big Patio of the Main Cloister, decorated with sevillan tyles from the XVI century, its beautiful moorish arches and its subterranean crypts known as The Catacombs, where you will feel the presence of Lima’s colonial past.

CONTEMPORARY LIMA:
Visit to the most traditional residential areas in the capital: The Olive Grove of San Isidro, Miraflores and Larco Mar, distinctive tourist centre of contemporary Lima, and visit of a magnificent exhibition of jewelry and handicrafts from the different regions of
millenary Peru. Live and enjoy the feeling of cosmopolitan Lima.

Day 03 Lima/Arequipa
Transfer to the airport, flight to Arequipa (B)

City tour in Arequipa
Upon arrival, reception at the airport , assistance and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, we start a three hour city tour including Santa Catalina Convent, the Plaza de Armas, the Jesuit church of La Compañía and its beautifully-painted chapel, the Church of San Francisco, San Lazaro’s district, Selva Alegre and the typical districts of Cayma and Yanahuara for a magnificent view of the Misti Volcano. Return to the hotel

Day 04 Arequipa/Colca

Early in the morning, after breakfast, start your trip to the Colca Canyon, visiting on the way Pampas Cañahuas, the Mirador of the Andes, the crater of Chucura, the Mirador of Chivay, where pre-inca andens may be appreciated. Arrival to the town of Chivay at 13:00hrs. approx. Transfer to the lodge.. In the afternoon free time to visit thermal and medical baths.

Day 05 Colca/Arequipa

After breakfast, very early in the morning, drive to the Condor’s Cross, natural observation point from where the magnitude of the Colca Canyon and the spectacular flight of the majestic condor is appreciated. On the way back to Chivay, visit to the Mirador of Chinina, where we will find the famous Hanging Tombs and the Hanging Bridge of Sifón that joins the town of Yanque with Coporaque. At the town of Yanque, visit its beautiful church and its characteristic stone streets among other attractions. To have spectacular views of the Colca Valley, we will drive to the observation points of Choquetipo and Artahuilque and also to the town of Maca. In the afternoon, return to the city of Arequipa, arriving at 18:00hrs. approx. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 06 Arequipa/Puno

Transfer from the hotel to the Terminal, bus ticket included , from Arequipa to Puno the travel is around 5 hours. Arrival in Puno and transfer to the hotel.

Day 07 Puno
Uros/Takile (B) (L)
Early in the morning, we will have an unforgettable motorboat excursion on the waters of Lake Titicaca to the unique “Floating Islands” of the Uros. . We continue our motorboat trip to Taquile island, . After lunch in a local Taquile inn, we have a walk through the various hills and archaeological sites of this 6 km long island. In the afternoon, return to Puno for overnight at the hotel.Free night.

Day 8 Puno/Cusco

Early in the Morning, after breakfast, transfer to the bus station and departure to Cusco, on the way you’ll will visit arqueological places, with a guide. Arrival in cusco and transfer to the hotel. The travel is around 10 hours.

Day 09 Cusco

Sightseeing the city and outskirts, including:
THE QORICANCHA or Temple of the Sun, and the Temple and Convent of Santo Domingo, built on top of the Temple of the Sun by the Spaniards.
PLAZA DE ARMAS (Main Square), with two beautiful and harmonious churches on its sides: the Company of Jesus and the Cathedral.
THE CATHEDRAL, with a Renaissance style external facade and interiors, famous for its paintings, silverwork, and ornaments.
SACSAYHUAMAN FORTRESS, where you find enormous walls built with huge stones laid out in a zigzag manner on three platforms.
QENQO, ruins formed by rocky staircases in a zigzag, with corridors and ceremonial water canals carved in stone.
PUCA PUCARA FORTRESS, formed by terraces, staircases, corridors, fortified towers, platforms and other buildings.
TAMBOMACHAY TEMPLE, popularly known as the Inca Baths, considered an important center for the worshipping of Water. It contains water canals, walls, and windows.

Day 10 Cusco/Machupicchu

Early in the morning transfer from your hotel to the Cuzco train station.
Train trip from Cuzco city to Machu Picchu (Aguas Calientes Town) through the beautiful Sacred Valley of Urubamba, Ascend by minibus from Aguas Calientes Town to the top of the mountain to get Machu Picchu Inca citadel.
Group guided visit to Machu Picchu aprox. 2 hours and you have 2 hours free Descend by minibus from the top the mountain to Aguas Calientes Town (lunch time) In the afternoon return by train from Aguas Calientes to Cuzco. Arrival to Cuzco train station and transfer to your hotel.

Day11 Cusco/Sacred Valley

PISAQ
This picturesque town with a blend of mestizo and colonial architecture belong to the province of Calca at the entrance to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, 32Km down a modern highway from the city of Cusco.
PISAQ ARTS AND CHAFTS MARKET.- Here merchants offer for sale all sorts of handicrafts, the most important of which are the textiles and ceramic goods
PISAQ ARCHAEOLOGICAL COMPLEX.- In the upper part there are the remains of this re-Columbian settlement located a few kilometers from the mestizo town. It takes up an entire mountain made up of different neighborhood or squares, the main one being Intiwatana, which is admired for the architectural skill with which its constructions were built. At the same time, the pre-Hispani cemetery is also of great interest as it is the largest found in this part of the continent. There are thousands of tombs, some of them looted. The complex is also famous for the colossal terraces that circle the mountains and the fabulous watchtowers which were used as observation points as well as for control and military defense.
OLLANTAYTAMBO
This archaeological complex was a gigantic agricultural, administrative, social, religious and military center in the era of the Tahuantinsuyo. The Spaniards called it the Fortress of Ollantaytambo. It is located 97km from Cusco down a modem highway.
CHINCHERO
A former Inca agricultural center, this district of the province of Urubamba i made up of 10 \”Ayllus\” or indigenous communities. Located at 3,762 mete above sea level, Chinchero is 28 km down a modem highway from the Cusco tourist circuit. It possesses a beautiful Andean landscape and is surrounded by the year-round snow-capped peaks of Chicón, Wequey Willca (commonly Calle Puna Sillo or Veronica).
The current town of Chinchero is a blend of Andean and Hispanic architec and is also home to a unique archaeological complex, with the remains o buildings, places of worship, and terraces for crops and for foundations.

Day 12 Cusco/Puerto Maldonado

Transfer to the airport and flight to Puerto Maldonado
Flight ticket from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado
Airport meet and transfer to the office to do the river travel paperwork.
Board the boat in the Capitanía Port and travel to our lodge, 30 minutes ride away.
Arrival at the lodges of Corto Maltes Amazonia, reception with a welcome cocktail, go to bungalows and lunch
Time to go for the first excursion that will take us into the tropical forest to discovery a great variety of medicinal plants, tropical trees, insects and butterflies, between
approximately 2 ½ to 3 hours walk away. A small stop at a view point to watch tucans and other birds. Return to the lodge, and before dining take a night trip by boat for a fun ‘caiman safari’.

Day 13 PARROT COLLPA * LAGO SANDOVAL * MONKEY ISLAND

We will get up at 0530 for a short 20 minute walk and arrive at a collpa where
minimum of 5 different species of parrots come down from the trees to eat a special type of clay indispensible for their metabolilsm. It really is an exciting and fantastic sight.
Breakfast and free time until the time to board the boat for an expedition to Monkey Island, where some species of these interesting creatures live in total freedom. An unforgettable time, so its important not to forget your camera.
Reboard the boat for 30 minutes travel before arriving at the magical and marvellous Lake Sandoval.
A 5km walk through exuberant tropical vegetation before feasting on a delicious picnic lunch.
The lake is a special place where numerous species of animals live, like the Giant Otter, small and large birds like the Hoatzin, Kingfisher and Snake bird, or monkeys such as the Howler Monkeys, Squirrel Monkeys and Capuchins, as well as the famous Pirhana and the giant Paiche fish that can measure up to 2.50m y weigh more than 200kgs. All of this can be discovered comfortably by canoeing until sundown.

Return to the river at night to see some nocturnal animals.
After a refreshing shower,

Supper, and those who want to can chat in the deckchairs on the resteraunt terrace before going to sleep, not forgetting to greet the Southern Cross.

Day 14 Puerto Maldonado/ Lima

Breakfast and board the boat returning to town. A visit to Puerto Maldonados fruit market. Arrival at the airport and flight ticket to Lima.

It is possible that there are changes in arrival times of the planes, so times may change. If the flights are earlier, the market visit will be on the day of arrival, after the airport meet.
